Notice: Emergency Federal DEA Scheduling of All Non-Scheduled Fentanyl Analogs

January 29, 2018

Blue info iconThe Federal Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) has recently issued a Proposed Rule to temporarily place any non-scheduled ‘fentanyl-related’ substances (i.e., analogs) into Schedule I, effective January 29, 2018.

The DEA Administrator has announced that the placement of these synthetic opioids in Schedule I is necessary to avoid an imminent hazard to the public safety. Schedule I controlled substances require a special state license and DEA registration to obtain or store them for research purposes.

To find out if you may be affected, review the Proposed Rule change here.
