Effective July 1, 2022: Revised Rates for Select ULAM Research Service Areas

Recent changes have been made to the rates for both In-Vivo Animal Core (IVAC) and Animal Surgery Operating Rooms (ASOR) research support services.

These rates, which are now reflected on the general Rates webpage and the respective IVAC and ASOR website(s), went into effect on July 1, 2022.

All rates have been reviewed and approved by the University’s Financial Analysis Office.

Important note regarding IVAC histology rates: Rates for IVAC histology services were adjusted in January 2022 as the result of a periodic rate review. As such, additional rate changes for these select services (e.g., standard histology procedures, immunohistochemistry stains, and special histochemical stains) are NOT being implemented at this time. IVAC histology rates will be re-evaluated and adjusted in September 2022 to ensure appropriate cost recovery.

Rates for other ULAM research service areas will continue to be re-evaluated on an annual basis coinciding with the end of the University’s fiscal year (June 30) and are subject to change.

While ULAM strives to minimize or prevent any rate fluctuations, study teams are encouraged to follow standard best practices for baseline budgeting which allow for incremental cost changes of between 2 – 5% per year throughout multi-year grant projects.
