Staying apprised of the many developments and impacts that COVID-19 continues to have on research operations can be challenging.

If you are struggling with where to find the most up-to-date information impacting the research community, we recommend that you bookmark the following tools and resources:

  • COVID-19: Guiding Principles for Working Safely with Research Animals in the Vivarium  Curated and maintained by the Animal Care & Use Program, including representatives from the Animal Care & Use Office, Unit for Laboratory Animal Medicine, and Institutional Animal Care & Use Committee, this webpage contains specific guidance and FAQs pertaining to research involving animals.
  • Environment, Health & Safety COVID-19 Information – Contains numerous resources for researchers including facility signage, COVID-19 workplace planning documents, and internal/external guidance for maintaining a safe work environment.
  • VPR Update – Launched at the end of September, the VPR Update is a new monthly email produced by the Office of the Vice President for Research (OVPR) and sent to all investigators and research administrators involved in active research across U-M’s three campuses. The email features important updates about research and scholarship from across the U-M research enterprise, including ongoing COVID-19 research metrics.
  • U-M COVID-19 Research Portal – Contains information on institution-wide planning and guidance for COVID-19 research operations, regularly-updated FAQs, funding opportunities, and a catalog of U-M research projects related to COVID-19.
  • Medical School COVID-19 Research Operations Medical School-specific guidance, including building information and news and updates affecting U-M biomedical research operations.
