ULAM Animal Room Procedures for Rodents Renewal Training

Clipboard with ULAM logo and icons denoting animal room procedures for rodents trainingTo promote continuing education, ULAM-10131 ULAM Animal Room Procedures for Rodents Part 1 (online) will be due every three years; this training was previously completed one time for access to Unit for Laboratory Animal Medicine (ULAM) rodent housing.

The purpose of this training is to ensure that investigative personnel stays apprised of animal care and use procedures in rodent housing areas.

Retaking this course will provide a refresher in practices such as:

  • Rodent caging, food, water, and transport;
  • Identification of animals;
  • Methods of communication in the animal room;
  • Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and Micro-Isolator (MI) techniques.

 

This change will be effective on July 15, 2019, with more communication to follow.
