Fall 2019 Faculty Vet Check-Ins Begin
As part of our ongoing efforts to keep the U-M research community apprised of important updates and changes happening within the Animal Care & Use Program, Unit for Laboratory Animal Medicine (ULAM) Faculty Veterinarians will be hosting Faculty Vet Check-Ins
in animal care facilities across campus throughout November and December 2019.
In addition to sharing important information about upcoming changes happening within the Animal Care & Use Program, ULAM Faculty Veterinarians will also be discussing facility-specific issues at each Check-In.
Specific topics of interest include:
- Preparing for the AAALAC 2020 Site Visit
- Peri-operative records
- Tumor monitoring
- Sanitization guidelines
- Drug reminders and updates
- Electronic medical records
- Misc. vivarium reminders and updates

We are committed to fostering a more collaborative, partnership-based approach to animal care in our facilities. As such, we encourage at least one member of each laboratory to attend the Check-In hosted by their facility veterinarian and to bring any questions or concerns specific to your research projects and/or animal care to our attention.
Please note that RSVPs are NOT required.
Questions?
If you or a member of your laboratory are unable to attend your facility's Check-In, please contact your ULAM Faculty Veterinarian directly to arrange a separate phone call or in-person meeting to discuss any questions you may have about veterinary care in your facility.
