Revised Unit for Laboratory Animal Medicine (ULAM) husbandry per-diem rates will go into effect on January 1, 2021.

Rates were evaluated on an individual case-by-case basis consistent with the National Institutes of Health (NIH)’s Cost Analysis and Rate Setting Manual for Animal Research Facilities. While we strive to prevent rate fluctuation through the use of different fiscal management controls and improvements to our operating efficiencies, you are strongly encouraged to follow standard best practices for baseline budgeting, which allow for incremental cost changes throughout multi-year grant projects.

We will continue to re-evaluate these rates on an annual basis coinciding with the end of the calendar year.
