New ULAM Husbandry, Truck Service Per-Diem Rates Go Into Effect

New per-diem rates for Unit for Laboratory Animal Medicine (ULAM) husbandry and truck services will go into effect on January 1, 2022. 

Rates were evaluated on an individual case-by-case basis consistent with the NIH’s Cost Analysis and Rate Setting Manual for Animal Research Facilities.

While ULAM strives to prevent rate fluctuation through the use of various financial management controls and improvements in operating efficiencies, study teams are strongly encouraged to follow standard best practices for baseline budgeting, which allow for incremental cost changes throughout multi-year grant projects.

Rates will continue to be re-evaluated on an annual basis coinciding with the end of each calendar year.
