The University’s Unit for Laboratory Animal Medicine (ULAM), part of the U-M Medical School Office of Research, offers a variety of specialized business and research support services to meet the ever-evolving needs of the U-M research community.
The ULAM Administration & Finance Office is available to assist investigators and support staff with questions and concerns pertaining to the many business aspects associated with managing an animal care and use project, including:
ULAM also offers a variety of fee-for-service research support services to investigators with limited personnel, equipment, and/or space resources. Current service offerings include:
- Anesthetic machine certification and rental
- Animal surgery operating rooms
- Germ-free mouse facility
- Breeding colony
- In-vivo animal core, including pathology, technical services, and animal diagnostic laboratory testing
