The Animal Care & Use Program offers virtual, on-demand office hours for the U-M research community to drop in (via Zoom) and ask questions about protocol management and amendments, compliance-related issues, inspection preparation, and more.

Individual team members are available during the regularly scheduled days/times listed below using U-Mā€™s Remote Office Hours Queue.requires Level-1 U-M login credentials

To Connect with a Team Member:

  1. Visit www.officehours.it.umich.edu
  2. Log in using your U-M login credentials
  3. Search ā€œQA Teamā€ to find available queues
    • Note: You can also search using an individualā€™s name or uniqname
  4. A queue will be labeled as either ā€œOpenā€ (the individual is currently accepting meetings via Zoom) or ā€œClosedā€ (the individual or team is NOT currently accepting meetings via Zoom)
  5. If the queue is open, click Join Queue to get in line for your one-on-one appointment
  6. As soon as theyā€™re available, a member of our team will start your private, one-on-one Zoom meeting

Please note: The Remote Office Hours Queue should NOT be used to report ill or injured animals to staff. Concerns about animal welfare that do NOT require immediate veterinary attention should be submitted via the Animal Concern Hotline.

Virtual Office Hours FAQs

  • The Remote Office Hours Queue uses the Zoom videoconferencing platform to connect attendees with meeting hosts (members of the Animal Care & Use Program Team)
  • Attendees areĀ notĀ required to have Zoom accounts to meet over Zoom; however,Ā all attendees must be able to log in with U-M login credentials to access theĀ Remote Office Hours QueueĀ and to view an individual team memberā€™s queue/availability.

If you would like to request a specific meeting day/time outside of the regular ā€œdrop inā€ office hours listed above, please email the individual you would like to meet with to request a separate meeting. Our Personnel Directory can be sorted by name, unit affiliation, or role.

Meeting times will vary depending on the nature and complexity of your question(s). We expect most meetings to be relatively short (e.g., no more than ~20 minutes) to address task or process-specific questions.

No, meetings are never recorded.

By default, meetings are private (e.g., one-on-one appointments) unless you or the host (a member of the Animal Care & Use Program Team) invites another individual into the Zoom meeting room after the meeting has already started.

Meeting settings, such as the ability to screen share, are managed at the discretion of the individual meeting host.
