Annual Outside Interest Disclosure Process Began July 1

U-M’s annual outside interest disclosure process began July 1, and the Office of the Vice President for Research (OVPR) has aggregated some important resources to help the research community effectively submit required disclosure information.

OVPR encourages disclosers to refresh their knowledge on what (and what not) to disclose as an outside activity, interest, or relationship by reviewing the updated Outside Activity Disclosure Guidance document (available via PDF download).

The U-M Conflict of Interest (COI) Offices are also available throughout the year to assist disclosers with their questions about outside activities or M-Inform yellow lock icon denoting level-1 U-M login required for access, U-M’s online outside interest disclosure system.

Learn more about the outside interest disclosure process, and review the “Key Steps to Disclose in M-Inform” resource ( PDF download), which describes and illustrates the top four actions disclosers must do within M-Inform to successfully submit their disclosure.

As a reminder, the University’s annual disclosure process begins July 1 with each new fiscal year. The COI process should be completed in M-Inform beginning July 1, with any disclosures updated within 30 days of any change(s) thereafter.
