Profile

Dr. Maresca-Fichter received her bachelor’s degree in animal science from North Carolina (NC) State University and completed her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine at Michigan State University.

She was first introduced to research while working in a toxicology lab as an undergraduate student. After graduating with her bachelor’s degree, Hailey worked as a Laboratory Animal Veterinary Assistant at NC State University.

During veterinary school, she participated in research projects to investigate equine metabolic and neuromuscular diseases and improving techniques of animal model development using CRISPR.

RESEARCH INTERESTS

Dr. Maresca-Fichter’s research interests include the improvement of transgenic animal model development and animal welfare through technique refinement(s).
