Profile

Dr. Boulanger obtained his undergraduate degree in biomedical engineering from the University of Rochester and completed his doctorate in veterinary medicine from the University of Pennsylvania.

He was first introduced to research after working in a cancer center, processing immunohistochemistry images. Later, he worked on a project investigating point-of-care optical screening for type II diabetes. He was drawn to the application of imaging, and during veterinary school he completed two summer fellowships working with production pigs to develop a camera-based screening tool for lameness.

RESEARCH INTERESTS

Dr. Boulanger’s research interests include applied imaging for animal health, welfare, and assessment.
