Profile

Dr. Yang joined the Unit for Laboratory Animal Medicine (ULAM) as a Faculty Veterinarian in July 2024 after completing her postdoctoral fellowship in laboratory animal medicine with ULAM and the University of Michigan (U-M). She obtained her undergraduate degree in Zoology from Michigan State University and a Master of Public Health in Epidemiology from Texas A&M University. She later returned to Michigan State University to complete her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine.

Dr. Yang was first introduced to research after working in a cancer institute and was drawn to the importance of working toward bettering human and animal health. During veterinary school, she completed summer research fellowships in Influenza and perinatal and neurodevelopmental infections.

RESEARCH INTERESTS

Dr. Yang’s research interests include animal surgical models, pain management, and infectious diseases.
