Profile

As the Chief Department Administrator โ€“ Director of Campus Animal Resources for the Unit for Laboratory Animal Medicine (ULAM), Valerie provides leadership for, and oversight of, ULAM business and finance operations, including the strategic management of animal care space.

As the Director of Campus Animal Resources, she serves as a liaison for ULAM and the Animal Care & Use Program to both Medical School and campus leadership on strategic initiatives to improve animal resource and husbandry operations across campus.

Professional Background

Prior to joining the University in 1998, Ms. Hill served as a Veterinary Assistant at two local animal hospitals where she provided after-hours care to hospitalized animals, assisted in surgical operations, and performed a variety of diagnostic laboratory procedures, including x-rays, venopuncture, and microbiology.

Ms. Hillโ€™s professional affiliations also include serving on, and chairing, a multitude of national American Association for Laboratory Animal Science (AALAS) committees.
