Changes to State of Michigan Requirements for Annual Controlled Substances Inventory

Controlled Substances Drugs

Effective this year, the annual Controlled Substances Inventory required by the State of Michigan (SOM) to be completed between April 1 and June 30 should no longer be mailed to the State.

Instead, registrants should file the completed inventory with their Controlled Substances records. Please be aware that this inventory may be requested at any time by the SOM and/or DEA.

REMINDER: The inventory is a β€œsnapshot” in time and does not reflect how the substances are used. You must complete the inventory regardless of quantity and type of controlled substances on hand – including powder, dilutions, expired controlled substances – or report that you have nothing.
