Report Animal Concerns

Connect with Your ULAM Faculty Veterinarian this May

ULAM

As part of the Unit for Laboratory Animal Medicine’s (ULAM) efforts to provide a collaborative, partnership-based approach to animal care at the U-M, ULAM Faculty Veterinarians will be hosting several check-in meetings at locations across campus yellow lock icon denoting level-1 U-M login required for access this May.

In addition to discussing facility-specific needs, a variety of other topics will be covered, including:

  • Overview of Beyond Use Dates
  • How common conditions in rodents are handled by veterinary staff
  • Reminder on how to address hazardous substances on your protocol
  • Procedures that veterinary technicians can perform
  • Turning in surgical/anesthetic records
  • Other updates/reminders: ULAM Training Core, changes to the Hazardous Substance Administration SOP, and more

Time will also be set aside at the end of each meeting to address any specific questions or concerns attendees may have.

For convenience, in-person and hybrid meetings have been scheduled at multiple locations spanning several days and times. Meetings will begin on Tuesday, May 13, and run through Friday, May 16.

While we encourage one member from each laboratory to attend the meeting hosted by their facility’s ULAM Faculty Veterinarian, participants are welcome to attend the meeting that best fits their schedule.
