Kiirsa manages the training and administrative staff of the ULAM Training Core, which is responsible for training animal care and use personnel and developing methods to enhance training effectiveness. She is also responsible for managing the training curriculum.
In her role as ULAM Training & Technical Services Manager, Kiirsa leads the development and coordination of ULAMβs technical services and provides oversight for ULAM standard operating procedure development and communication programs.
Professional Background
Kiirsa began her laboratory animal science career in 2000 as a Research Associate at MPI Research (now Charles River Laboratories) in Kalamazoo, MI. She became a Trainer at MPI Research in 2002, training new research associates on the care and use of a variety of laboratory animal species.
In 2004, Kiirsa became the Training Group Leader where she led a team of trainers, developed curriculum, adopted various training evaluation methods, and enhanced other training-related processes.
