The Unit for Laboratory Animal Medicine (ULAM) offers a variety of specialized research support services to the U-M research community in addition to the standard provisions (e.g., food, water, husbandry, housing, and supplies) of daily care each animal receives.

Current rates for these select service areas (outlined below) will be extended through September 30, 2026:

Rates are being extended through the end of September to allow for additional data collection and routine financial analysis in partnership with the U-M’s Enterprise Financial Planning & Analysis Office (EFP&A).

New rates will be shared via email and on the website as soon as they become available.

All ULAM rates are calculated based on direct cost-recovery only, and are reviewed and approved on a regular (i.e., at least annual) basis by the EFP&A Office.

To better assist study teams with budget planning, we anticipate that rate adjustments for the select service areas above will shift from the current July 1 renewal date to the beginning of the calendar year effective January 1, 2028.
