New AAALAC 2020 Site Visit Preparation Materials Now Available

We would like to direct your attention to the following NEW tools and resources available to assist with your AAALAC 2020 Site Visit preparations:

Materials from Final Preparation Town Hall

If you were unable to attend the first Town Hall we held earlier this week, or if you would like to share the presentation with your colleagues, the archived recording is now available to view here (or paste animalcare.umich.edu/archived-aaalac-chats into your web browser).**

For your convenience, a copy of the Town Hall PowerPoint presentation slides has also been uploaded to the AAALAC Preparation Materials folder on Box.

Handouts & Other Informational Resources

In this folder, you will also find numerous AAALAC preparation handouts, including the Daily Site Visit Schedule, How to Prepare, a Laboratory Inspection Checklist, and Site Visitor Bios. All preparation materials are included in the AAALAC 2020 Site Visit Digital Preparation Toolkit available at animalcare.umich.edu/aaalac-toolkit. 

If you have not yet done so, please complete the AAALAC Laboratory Spokesperson Designation Form as soon as possible so that we know which members of your laboratory will be present and available to speak with the Site Visit Team during the week of the Site Visit (Tuesday, August 25 – Friday, August 28).

Virtual AAALAC Chats & Other Events

We also want to remind you that all eight previous Virtual AAALAC Chats have been recorded and archived for future reference. Topics include controlled substances, rat and mice euthanasia procedures, equipment cleaning and sanitization, surgical records, daily husbandry and management of aquatics facilities, laboratory safety, protocol management, and tumor burden monitoring in rodents. All archived recordings are available at animalcare.umich.edu/archived-aaalac-chats. 

Finally, we want to remind you of the second and final AAALAC Preparation Town Hall scheduled for Wednesday, August 19 from 3:30 PM – 4:30 PM. The information shared at this session will be similar to what was shared during the Town Hall on July 27; therefore, you are not required to attend. However, please encourage anyone who may have missed the first session, or who has any last-minute questions about the visit, to attend the Town Hall on August 19.
