New OVPR Funding Program Aims to Support, Catalyze Research

March 15, 2021

Researcher in College of Engineering laboratoryThe Office of the Vice President for Research (OVPR) has developed a new funding program that aims to catalyze research and spur innovation across the University of Michigan’s Ann Arbor, Dearborn, and Flint campuses.

The Research Catalyst and Innovation (RCI) Program features four new funding mechanisms that will total more than $1.5 million in research support over Fiscal Year 2022. The program also helps teams leverage internal investments to then seek more external support through increased collaboration between OVPR, its research development team, and schools/colleges across U-M.

RCI replaces the Faculty Grants and Awards Program, which OVPR managed for more than 20 years. Researchers across the three U-M campuses are eligible to apply.

Visit the OVPR's Research Catalyst and Innovation Program website for additional details, including submission deadlines and instructions for applying.
