We are pleased to announce the first-ever Community of Care Fair, a unique opportunity for the U-M research community to engage with colleagues from across campus and explore best practices in laboratory animal care and use.
The Community of Care Fair, part of the Animal Care & Use Program’s AAALAC 2026 Site Visit Community Kickoff Events,
is an open-house style event where attendees are invited to explore different presenter tables/displays. Light refreshments will also be provided.
The fair will be preceded by a one-hour AAALAC 2026 Site Visit Kickoff Meeting hosted by U-M Vice President for Research and Innovation & Institutional Official Arthur Lupia, PhD, and the Animal Care & Use Program Leadership Team. For convenience, the Kickoff Meeting will also be livestreamed via Zoom webinar (U-M login credentials required).
Attendance at either event is strongly encouraged. Please note: valid U-M login credentials are required to participate.
Have an Innovative Idea to Share?
If your laboratory has a unique approach to enhancing animal care and/or improving operations, please consider sharing your idea as part of the Community of Care Fair.
Examples may include, but are not limited to: best practices for communicating with animal care staff, management of drugs and other medical materials, onboarding new laboratory staff, etc. Presenters must be available to staff their table for the entirety of the fair from 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM.
Complete details are available via the AAALAC 2026 Kickoff Events RSVP page.
