In recent months, the Animal Care & Use Office (ACUO) Quality Assurance (QA) Team has welcomed three new staff members:
Each brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to their new roles, including previous work with the Unit for Laboratory Animal Medicine (ULAM) and serving as a Laboratory Research Technician.
To better support the U-M research community through a more streamlined approach to customer service, all QA Specialists are being cross-trained as Research Compliance Associates (RCAs).
As part of these dual roles, Shalena, Taryn, and Chelsea will be responsible for:
- Conducting QA visits with investigators to improve their compliance confidence,
- Assisting both PIs and laboratory staff with shepherding their animal use protocols through the eRAM system,
- Identifying impediments to the conduct of sound research, and
- Serving as an advocate and educational resource for the U-M research community.
Please join us in congratulating Shalena, Taryn, and Chelsea on their new roles with the Animal Care & Use Program!
