eRAM System Upgrade, Outage Scheduled for Early May

eRAM

In May 2025, the eResearch Animal Management (eRAM) system used for managing all animal use protocols and processing animal orders and transfers will upgrade its underlying application technology, including several enhancements to improve user experience.

During the upgrade period, tentatively scheduled to begin at 5:00 PM on Friday, May 2, 2025, and running through approximately 6:00 AM on Sunday, May 4, 2025, the eRAM system will be offline. As such, Study Teams will be unable to:

  • Submit animal orders
  • Complete animal transfers
  • Process protocol submissions and amendments
  • Access protocol reviews and approvals

The system status can be checked at any time during the scheduled outage window by visiting the ITS Service Status webpage. yellow lock icon denoting level-1 U-M login required for access

System Upgrades

The upgrade will include several navigation enhancements and accessibility improvements, including an updated My Roles menu, improved readability for some data tables and search results, and an updated Activity History Change Tracking view. Users can also expect minor changes to the look and feel of the eRAM interface.

A detailed summary of new and modified system features will be shared on the eRAM Release Notes page. Updated eRAM Step-by-Step Guides will also be released as part of the system upgrade.
