The University of Michigan (U-M) eResearch platform– which includes the eResearch Animal Management (eRAM), eResearch Regulatory Management (eRRM), eResearch Proposal Management (eRPM), and M-Inform systems – will need to be replaced by Fall 2031 as the vendor phases out its current software products.
This winter, U-M issued a public Request for Proposals to invite leading research administration vendors to share solutions that can meet the university’s complex needs. The eResearch leadership team is now reviewing the submissions and narrowing the field of potential partners.
In the coming weeks, the team, together with representatives from schools and colleges nominated by their Research Associate Deans, will take part in vendor presentations to determine finalists.
Over the summer, members of the U-M research community will have the chance to share their feedback and test finalist systems through hands-on evaluation opportunities. If you are interested in contributing input, please complete this brief form to let the team know. ![]()
The university is planning to take a staggered approach to transition each eResearch module (e.g., eRAM, eRRM, eRPM, M-Inform) to the new system beginning in early 2027 and finishing by the 2031 deadline.
All current eResearch systems will remain supported throughout the transition period.
