Fourth Annual Science of Enrichment Symposium

Zebrafish with plant enrichment in fish tankCo-hosted by the Unit for Laboratory Animal Medicine (ULAM) Animal Enrichment Committee and the Michigan Society for Medical Research (MISMR), the Science of Enrichment Symposium will be held on Wednesday, June 12 from 8:00 AM* – 5:00 PM at The Kensington Hotel in Ann Arbor.

Now in its fourth year, the Symposium is a day-long event designed to engage laboratory animal staff and research investigators in the science of environmental enrichment for animals used in biomedical research.

The Symposium will focus on evidence-based recommendations for enrichment best practice(s) and features speakers from academia, government, and industry with expertise in rodents, frogs, exotic animals, and NHPs.

Event registration opens at 7:00 AM. The Symposium begins at 8:00 AM.

There is a $50 registration fee for this event, which includes a continental breakfast and lunch. Space is limited, so if you are interested in attending, you are strongly encouraged to register soon.

Free parking is available on-site at The Kensington Hotel, with overflow parking available in the adjacent Briarwood Mall parking lot.

Continuing Education Credit

This event offers up to six (6.00) credit hours of CE. Each 60-minute speaking session has been RACE approved for one (1.00) hour of CE credit for veterinarians or veterinary technicians. The AAVSB RACE approval number for this event, the Fourth Annual Science of Enrichment Symposium, is 1123-37014.

Technicians certified through AALAS will also be eligible for CE credits. CE certificates will be provided at the Symposium. RACE does not "accredit" or "endorse" or "certify" any program or person, nor does RACE approval validate the content of the program.
