SERVICE AREA

HOLIDAY HOURS

Animal Care & Use Office

The Animal Care & Use Office (ACUO) will be closed beginning at 12:00 PM (noon) on Friday, December 23, 2022ย โ€“ Monday, January 2, 2023.

Submissions to the IACUC will still be accepted through eRAM during this time period, but the ACUO will be unable to process them until the office re-opens on Tuesday, January 3, 2023.

Animal Ordering and Deliveries

Final animal deliveries for the 2022 calendar year will be received on Thursday, December 15, 2022. There will be no animal deliveries beginning Friday, December 16, 2022 โ€“ Friday, January 6, 2023.

The deadline for ordering animals to arrive during the second week of January (Monday, January 9 โ€“ Friday, January 13, 2023) is Thursday, December 22, 2022. Orders should be submitted in eRAM via an Animal Purchase Request.

Animal Surgery Operating Rooms (ASOR)

Questions about ASOR scheduling or services should be directed to [email protected] or (734) 764-0224.

ULAM Pathology Core

Both ULAM Pathology Core locations at NCRC and MSAB will be closed beginning at 12:00 PM (noon) on Friday, December 23, 2022 โ€“ Monday, January 2, 2023.

Sample submission deadlines BEFORE the holidays are as follows:

  • Tuesday, December 20 โ€“ for histology
  • Wednesday, December 21 โ€“ for hematology/chemistry/send-outs

These deadlines were chosen to allow Pathology Core staff sufficient time before the holiday break to process samples to a stable stage. CBCs must be completed within 24 hours of receipt, and paraffin histology samples are stable once they reach the embedding stage.

Samples that do not need processing prior to the holidays (frozen serum, glass slides, paraffin blocks) can be submitted by appointment up until the closing date; no work will be done during the time periods that the ULAM Pathology Core is closed.

As a reminder, sample submission is by appointment only via MiCORES. Study teams are strongly encouraged to book their appointments early, particularly if they anticipate a large submission, in order to help Pathology Core staff plan their workflows accordingly.

ULAM Pathology Core locations will re-open on Tuesday, January 3, 2023, at 8:00 AM (NCRC) and 9:00 AM (MSAB).

ULAM Technical Services

ULAM Technical Services are currently unavailable during weekends and holidays and have limited availability from December 27, 2022 โ€“ December 30, 2022. All requests should be submitted via the Technical Services Request Form
