Chris’s responsibilities encompass all facility-related topics for buildings with animal vivaria. This includes maintenance issues and concerns, coordinating shutdown with the U-M Plant Department, current facility renovations, and new facility construction projects.

Chris is the primary person responsible for managing the husbandry portion of the Unit for Laboratory Animal Medicine (ULAM) capital equipment budget. The primary items purchased are cagewash machines, animal housing racks, and associated equipment.

Professional Background

Chris started at the University of Michigan in 1996. He graduated from the Institute for Laboratory Animal Management (AALAS’s two-year professional development program) and continues to be very active in AALAS. He frequently attends national meetings and has held a leadership position in the Michigan Branch of AALAS.
